| [deutsch siehe unten] The wind came in early in the morning so that a first possible start was scheduled for 9.30 but just at the start of the first heat the wind dropped again.
For the rest of the day the wind tried to reach a competitive level a couple of times, but unfortunately it did not last long enough to start a fair competition.
So the only thing the riders could do was to show some freestyle action out of competition and a best move contest was held.
The crowed on the beach so very high level freestyle performance in very light wind conditions.
Chris Sammer (F2 / Arrows) from Austria showed a perfect flake which brought him into the third position. Norman Günzlein (JP/NP) came up with a clew first switch stand chacoo, which brought him into second position.
A big surprise was the winner as the young german rider Fabian Weber (F2/Arrows) showed a perfect done switch stance one handed flaka which brought him the victory in the best move contest.
Fabian Weber (F2/Arrows) showed his talent and seems to be a key player for the future events. So a lot of the top guys are warned that at this competitions everything is possible as the level of all the riders is very high and very close.

| Mehr als 36.000 Besucher beim ersten Surf Worldcup-Wochenende
Tausende Besucher, frühsommerliche Temperaturen und super Stimmung: So lässt sich das erste Wochenende des spark7 Surf Worldcup 2004 presented by ESKIMO in aller Kürze beschreiben. Am Sonntag, den 2. Mai, fanden sich in Podersdorf am See rund 10.000 Besucher ein, um in entspannter Atmosphäre Energie und gute Laune für die nächste Arbeitswoche zu tanken. Insgesamt konnten am ersten Wochenende (30. April bis 2. Mai 2004) des Surf Worldcup 2004 über 36.000 Besucher an den Ufern des Neusiedler Sees begrüßt werden.
Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen, der die gute Stimmung vor Ort aber keineswegs trübte: Auch am dritten Tag des spark7 Surf Worldcup 2004 presented by ESKIMO blieb der Wind leider aus und es fanden wieder keine Bewerbe im Rahmen der European Freestyle Pro Tour 2004 (EFPT) statt. Dennoch hatten die insgesamt 42 Windsurfer aus neun Ländern jede einzelne Minute ihres Aufenthalts am Neusiedler See genossen. "Der EFPT-Stopp in Podersdorf am See ist einfach das absolute Highlight der gesamten Tour und wir werden auch im nächsten Jahr sicher wieder mit dabei sein", waren sich alle Windsurfstars einig.
Am Nachmittag wurden die nationalen und internationalen Boardartisten dann feierlich verabschiedet. Nächster Stopp der EFPT-Tour ist der Swiss Funboard Cup von 7. bis 9. Mai in der Schweiz am Urnersee.
Beim spark7 Boardriding Contest (Trikke, Tretauto) traten diesmal die Windsurfer, unter anderem Chris Sammer und Tom Hartmann, gegen Zuschauer an, die letztlich den Bewerb auch für sich entscheiden konnten.
